The sun was sinking quickly now that twilight had settled its way into the world. Every standing object seemed to be cast with a fiery glow as the setting sun settled itself upon the horizon. The mists that normally coated this particular land seemed to have taken a break as everything was crystal clear and strikingly beautiful. Even the lagoon that always seemed to sinister danced with an unnatural light that made it appear so enticing and inviting. The trees even gave up their normally deep green shade to appear as if their newly budding tops were set on fire with the orange and golden light. Inanimate objects were not the only things cast in a fiery glow. No, the slim frame of a young mare was also set aflame but it was more of a natural coloring than that of the objects around her.
Indeed, the lithe minx was swathed in a coat of fiery chestnut, blending neatly into her surroundings of the moment. She was standing perfectly still for the moment being, allowing deep mahogany pools to lazing gaze about her and take in what this particular land had to offer. Even though she knew perfectly well what kind of reputation this particular spot held, she seemed perfectly at home in her surroundings. A sly grin was working its way along her chiseled features as her rather complex brain worked out a scenario that an unsuspecting brute would take advantage of her. Indeed, she was perfectly capable of looking after herself having done so for quite a while now. A low chuckle danced from her pursed labrums at the mere thought of the one brute whop had attempted to work his way into her life. She had easily left him to his own resources despite her lack of age and supposed experience. The number of years spent occupying this earth did not necessarily warrant wisdom and maturity.
Heaving a deep sigh, she sent one more glance about her, confirming that she was alone, she set her slender appendages in motion toward the calm lagoon stretching out before her. Prancing just like an ecstatic filly, she made her way to the edge of the waters where, for only a moment, she paused her motions. Gazing into the depths that stretched out and slowly disappeared before her gaze, her grin grew larger. The day had been an unseasonably warm one for spring and there was nothing that she wanted more than to cool her hocks. Waiting no longer, she plunged forward into the quietly surging water, throwing up her chiseled skull and sending her vibrant locks out into the fading sunlight. A squeal of pure joy flowed from her labrums before she settled down to gaze about her once more.
